4:30 am                     Arrive at OHS Band Room

5:00 am                     Load Buses

5:30 am                     Leave OHS

7:00 am CST            Arrive at Jacksonville State University

Snack – provided by the boosters

7:30 am                     Dress

9:00 am                     Unload

9:15 am                     Stretch (On your own)

9:40 am                     Warm-up

10:00 am                   Pit Leaves

10:10 am                   Pit/Prop report

10:30 am                   Band report

10:45 am CST          Perform

12:00 pm                   Change into Band Warm-up

12:45 pm                   Lunch

2:15 pm                     Back to stadium, watch bands, rest

4:00 pm                     Prelims end ~ Announcement of finalists

5:00 pm                     Awards Ceremony

The Band Boosters will provide dinner as the schedule allows.
Schedule will be provided after Final performance is announced.

6:45 pm CST            Gates open for finals

7:45 pm                     Finals begin

10:15 pm                   Finals end

10:30 pm                   Finale ~ Presentation of awards

11:30pm                    Load Buses (A late night snack will be provided before leaving)

12:00 am                   Leave Jacksonville State

3:00 am                     Arrive at OHS

 

STUDENTS MUST HAVE:

  • Band:    Complete Pirate Costume, black socks and black marching shoes.
  • Guard:  Complete competition costume
  • All Band Members should bring their Band Warm Up with Red Band Shirt to change into after our prelims performance.
  • Dress comfortably and tastefully for the bus ride.
  • You may want to bring a small blanket and pillow for personal comfort on the bus.
  • Students with medicine should bring it in a sealed plastic bag with directions for dispensing.

PARENTS:  YOUR STUDENT MUST REMAIN WITH THE BAND AT ALL TIMES UNTIL AFTER COMPETITION AND FINAL LOADING OF TRUCKS.   

***If the head chaperone of your student’s bus has received a signed note from you before leaving OHS, at this time, you and your child TOGETHER must notify Sue Hofflinger that your child is leaving with you.  Any request for a band member to leave with anyone other than a parent must be done prior to leaving OHS.  Please include, on the note, a cell number where you can be reached.

Tickets for the competition are as follows:

  • Prelims:  $14.00
  • Finals:     $14.00
  • All Day:   $22.00
