What a Busy Time
Wow! What a busy few weeks the last have been! First, the bands performed wonderfully at the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association’s Concert Festival receiving ALL Superior ratings. The adjudicators had only extremely complimentary things to say about all three ensembles performances. We may have been the only band in the state to take three ensembles to festival with two in the hardest/highest grade level of music. Bravo! We followed that up with an incredible performance at the Music for All Regional Concert Festival at Georgia State University in Atlanta. Once again, we received glowing comments and accolades from our evaluators and clinicians. They were so impressed by the bands musical maturity and provided many compliments with one evaluator telling me that our performance made his day. Once again, Bravo!
While the band was doing this, our Winter Guard was competing in a SAPA Competition in Atlanta and finished our season at the Southern Association of Performing Arts (SAPA) this past weekend receiving the Silver Medal in their National Class A. The show was beautiful! Thanks to Tyler Edrington and James Smith for their work designing and teaching the show. Bravo to all involved!
All of this would not have been possible without incredible parent support! Thank you to all the parents who chaperoned, fed the students, moved props, and supported all of our students’ efforts! You are the BEST!
In closing, I have an updated schedule that should take us through the end of the school year. There are only minor changes from the scheduled last adjusted in February. I will add the Colorguard and Drum Major auditions dates as soon as we have those set.
